One of my favorite bands in college hands-down was 10,000 Maniacs. Much like R.E.M.'s Murmur was to my older brother's cohort, In My Tribe was to my friends, meaningful college pop, full of idealism. (Remember idealism?) I saw the Blind Man's Zoo tour while in college. Natalie Merchant is one of the most genuine artists I have ever seen perform.
Here's a little bit of Our Time in Eden. This particular song always inspires me to live life to its fullest. It also reminds me how popular baggy clothes and bob haircuts were in the late 80s/early 90s.
